Andean Altar Cloth
Handwoven with love by the Q'ero community in the Sacred Valley of Peru ♥
Made from Alpaca wool and other natural fibers, these manta cloths are hand loomed, and can take many months to complete. They may be adorned with traditional symbols such as coca leaves, animals, or other geometric designs that are considered sacred to the indigenous Andean people. They are used traditionally as altar cloths for one's "mesa" (or shamanic altar), as a setting for one's shamanic tools during plant medicine ceremonies, or in some cases, as a surface for doing coca leaf divination.
All natural dye, this manta is one of our favourites.
