Amaru Ring. A ceremonial brass ring carrying Amaru, the feline-serpents, from the stone of Chavín de Huántar.
Amaru is the cosmic serpent of the Andes, the being that dwells in the deep layers of consciousness and the deep layers of the earth. In Chavín carving, Amaru often appears as feline-serpents, two beings mirrored in sacred reciprocity.
The Amaru Ring shows these feline-serpents looking inward. Perception turned within before the hand acts. Worn on the finger, Amaru becomes a reminder that what moves outward has first moved inward.
Each piece is drawn in Peru, in consultation with teachers in Áncash, and handcrafted in Bali by metalsmiths who shape each piece in wax before casting in brass. 5% of every sale returns to Yarpakuti Chawpin, the organisation in Áncash that keeps this tradition alive.
Each piece arrives in a KANTU pouch, with a story card and a care card.
Materials: solid brass. Adjustable.
Adornment as Remembrance.
